field tested in the offices of Dr. Jack Bass and his private practice in Salem, Missouri

After testing the results of the following Missouri RMP projects in the offices located in Columbia in a room called "Dr. Mock's office", they were tranplanted into Dr. Billy Jack Bass' remodeled office for field testing. The projects included patient history, radiology consultation, automated test equipment, computer system development services, medical systems analysis, medical literature retrieval, ECG services, and pathology laboratory. The combination of these projects was called "The Automated Physician Assistant." They were linked to the Medical Center Clinical Test Site. "After almost two years of operation the answers to three of the most common questions were clearly and effectively answered: (a) technology does work in the office of an individual physician; (b) there was clear-cut acceptance of the technology by the patients, office staff, and physician; and (c) technology was of value in initial screening of new patients, periodic health examinations, and fostering an increased number of measurements and an orderly collection of data." ("The Automated Physician's Assistant", p.46) [AER]
