Rodbell, Martin, 1925-1998 - Date:
- 25 March 1971
- Description:
- The fifth in a now-classic series of five articles in which Rodbell concluded that GTP was likely the active biological factor in separating glucagon from the cell's receptor, which had important implications for the treatment of various disorders and diseases. In the last two articles of this series, Rodbell demonstrated that GTP affected the binding of glucagon to its receptors and was necessary for glucagon to activate adenyl cyclase, an important component of some intracellular signaling pathways.
